What is LAVH?

LAVH stands for Laparoscopic Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy.
In this procedure:
- A laparoscope (thin camera) is inserted through small cuts in the abdomen
-Specialized instruments are used to separate the uterus from surrounding structures
-The uterus is then removed through the vagina
-In some cases, the fallopian tubes and ovaries may also be removed if medically necessary
This technique combines the benefits of both laparoscopy and vaginal hysterectomy, avoiding a large abdominal incision.
